Jerry Cooper is an adult Tom Sawyer who, having fallen on hard times, is struggling with the reality of sleeping in his car for the first time. When he stumbles upon an old woman named Alma and her dog Lucky, he believes his luck may finally be changing. Alma's daughter, Helene, hires him to take care of the flinty old matriarch and Jerry quickly discovers that he's bitten off more than he can chew. Both Helene and her sexually charged teenage daughter want more from him than just walking the dog so Jerry enlists three friends' help to sort out the situation. But things go rapidly from bad to worse in this contemporary LA story that mixes class, race and sex until you don't know who's taking who for a walk anymore.
